S. Veterans Bureau in Salt Lake City and asked that all Radiographers in the Salt Lake area should get in touch with him to work on the creation of a chapter of the Utah Society of Radiographers in association with the American Society of Radiographers. In January of 1933 the Utah Society of Radiographers was born with Elmer Lueck President of the Utah organization with 14 members, thus becoming the 24th affiliate under the American Association. By 1938 the name of the organization had changed to the Utah Society of X-Ray Technicians to reflect the name change of the American organizations. In 1949 the U. S. Treasury Department issued the Utah Society of X-Ray Technicians a non-profit organization status. Later the name would change to the Utah Society of Radiologic Technologist. Mission:The Society is an organization whose mission is to lead and serve its members, the healthcare profession and the public on all the issues affecting the Radiologic sciences.
